Our research focuses on the ecology of plants, insect herbivores and their natural enemies. On the one hand, we studied natural enemies of insects and their potential use as biological controllers. On the other hand, our experimental methods allow us to know how certain plants to resist or tolerate insect attack and how we may use biodiversity in farming systems sustainable.
I am interested in investigating the interactions between plants and insects, especially pest insects, and relationships with their natural enemies. I have studied interactions tri-trophic with cultivated plants of temperate-zone and tropical zone; with insects of the aerial part of the plant, insects root in the soil, parasitoids, hyper-parasitoids and nematodes entomopathogenic. Some of my studies deal of interactions mediated by volatile organic chemicals. The methodologies used include methods of ecology and chemical ecology classical, in the laboratory and in the field. My research seeking to understand the basic issues of the ecology of plant-insect-natural enemy with the aim of using this knowledge in potential applications for the sustainable management of pest insects and Agro-ecology. I have a particular taste for pollinators, especially those without a sting. Work to expand the knowledge of the ecology of insects through international cooperation; in addition, the improvement of the systems of science, technology and innovation are part of my thoughts. How would you know more of my experience? Academy
